An Information Worker provides information and advice to people with a learning disability, their families and professionals. The focus is on the many different and improved ways of communicating with people with learning disabilities. A wide range of information is provided in Easy Read and in other accessible formats. Books, videos and equipment are available for loan.

"Jargon-Busters"
This is a group of people with learning disabilities looking at West Lothian organisations leaflets / documents. They then report back to the organisation on how easy to read the document is. New members are always welcome.

The Communication Group
The aim of this group is to promote good communication across West Lothian. The group consists of service providers in West Lothian. The Information Worker will be: promoting accessible information across West Lothian. exploring alternative ways of providing information to people with learning disabilities. compiling an up-to-date list of learning disability publications available from the resource centre. researching further into what leisure activities / clubs are available in West Lothian producing a regular fact sheet informing people with a learning disability, their families, professionals of activities / events
